Media Room Goes Incognito

THE VISION

Our client wanted a media room hidden within their basement, retaining the feel of a family room. This meant keeping the technology subtle so it didn’t dominate the space. They were not very familiar with computers or home automation and were worried that the media room they envisioned would be too much to handle.

CHALLENGES

  • Small family/media room
  • Classical style furnishings
  • The client did not feel comfortable with the use of electronics

THE DESIGN:

A TOUCH OF A BUTTON, REVEALS A MOTORIZED PROJECTOR & SCREEN WHILE 3 CUSTOMIZED SURROUND SPEAKERS SEAMLESSLY BLEND WITH THE TEXTURED DRYWALL, CONCEALING THEIR IDENTITY.

I’m not a very computer literate person, and was worried the system would be to much to handle for my wife and I. One Smart Home said the system would be really easy to use and it’s TRUE! It’s as simple as using your iPhone or iPad…that’s it! It’s now integrated into our lives and we don’t know if we could ever do without it. One of the biggest advantages we did not foresee is when we travel it gives a comforting feeling, being able to login and see how things are around the house. We plan on expanding our system in the future!
